A Cappella Recording
WRA offers a flat-rate recording service for a cappella groups. Don’t worry about editing hours, mixing hours, and recording tech hours — pay one flat rate for the whole track!
Individual Takes
We operate on the individual-take model. Each vocalist comes in for their own session, recording their part for each track. The track being recorded can be heard in MIDI version while each vocalist is recording. If there are fewer than four people on a part, some vocalists will be asked to “double-track,” recording two takes for the same track. This model isolates any mistakes and makes a very smooth-sounding final track, reducing the need for ample edits.
Vocal Coaching
With eight years of collegiate a cappella experience under his belt, Will is no ordinary recording technician. He will work with your vocalists while in studio to get the best out of their voices and will coach then through the oddities of singing for a recording. Every note will be confident, on-pitch, and emotive!
Mobile Studio
We come to you! WRA brings recording equipment to your campus or rehearsal location and sets up a studio for high-quality recording. All you need to provide is the room and the singers!
Rates:
$500 per track. This includes all recording tech, editing, and mixing.
Travel to and from the recording site is paid for by the group. When driving, WRA does not charge by the mile, just for gas costs. If flying, the group must pay for an airfare and a checked bag. WRA is based in Brunswick, Maine.
Why Choose WRA:
Local studios often are armed well to record rock bands and pop groups. When it comes to a cappella recording, however, they don’t know where to start. To get the best recorded product, you need to work with someone who knows a cappella music. With eight years of experience in the collegiate a cappella world, Will knows the best trade secrets to getting a state-of-the art track while keeping your wallet full. Don’t believe us? Listen to the samples below. Will trained under Bob Kinkel (Trans-Siberian Orchestra Founder) and Ted Trembinski (from the Vocal Company) and has been recording a cappella tracks since 2013.
